Multicellular organisms are composed of diverse cell types that originate from a single cell. We are interested in understanding how packaging and functional regulation of genomes in these diverse cell types are established and inherited, and how dysfunctional genome integrity affects cell fate. Moreover, we are interested in how this cell diversity evolutionarily relates to health and disease states. To this end, we investigate genome organization and gene regulation using regulatory genomics, bioinformatics, quantitative single-cell imaging, and genetics.
